Late 18th Century Tibetan Trunk of Leather & Iron 33.5"W x 15"D x 17.5"H
A rare and gorgeous paint decorated leather clad trunk from Tibet. Acquired in the late 1970’s by a Dallas TX collector. The exterior was cleaned in its past and appears to have a preservative finish over the paint decoration possibly a lacquer or varnish. The back is not decorated. The iron is rusted but coated in a clear coat finish. Some cracking and splits and paint loss as expected.
